We’re not your typical rescue. We’ve been saving lives for over 20 years; dogs, cats, horses, birds, reptiles, wildlife, and the occasional lost soul. Through foster programs, shelter partnerships, and a whole lotta grit, WE MADE IT HAPPEN.
Born in Sarasota, Florida in 2004, and now planted in the North Georgia mountains, Gimme Shelter Pet Adoption has evolved. These days, we’re less about taking pets in... and more about keeping them home where they belong.

We work directly with trusted local vets to get pets the help they need, when they need it. Quietly. With dignity. And no strings attached.

A cat needs surgery.
A senior pet gets diagnosed with diabetes and suddenly insulin is a monthly bill someone can’t swing.
And with the way things are going, the economy, and the rise in pet abandonment , this is only going to get worse.
